69 Acres Secluded in the Jungle with Rivers and Waterfalls
Cascada de Punta Mala is just 5 minutes south of Ojochal and 40 minutes north of the proposed International Airport in Palmar Sur. However, with a 20 minute drive off the Coastal highway, rising up to 490 meters (1600 feet), this farm is in cooler air and very, very secluded.
A Great Location for an Eco-Resort with Tons of Jungle Wildlife
The ridge of the farm is the most spectacular part because as the land falls away on either side of the ridge, the views are rendered spectacularly. There are about 8 house sites with ocean views, and several more in wooded areas. Although the rest of the farm is too steep for use, the protection it provides for the vast array of wildlife is notable. There are Ocelots, Wild Peccaries, a plague of Toucans, Swallow Tailed Kites, and of course loads of monkeys.
Walk to the Punta Mala River and Large Waterfalls
A good walk down from the ridge and you arrive at the Punta Mala River which runs for about 1 kilometer along the boundary of the property. One of the many waterfalls along this stretch of river is approximately 100 meters (328 feet) high.
Water and Electric to the Property Line
The road along with a public water tube and electricity goes right to the edge of the property on the ridge. You would need to run the road, electricity and water another 300 meters (985 feet) to access the best part of the ridge. The water is public but comes from one of the finest springs I’ve seen in all of Costa Rica. Directly out of the rocks the beautiful mountain water runs year round.
Secluded Location Yet Not Too Far From Everything
As you drive out of the farm and down the hill, you come to the Coastal highway where you are minutes from a good hardware store, great restaurants, dive shops, a gas station, grocery stores, a brand new state of the art hospital, and arguably the finest beaches in Costa Rica at Ventanas and Ballena.
