Pacific River Palms, “Palmas” is a 460-acre (185 hectare) fully operational (ocean access and view) integrated agricultural estate focusing on the cultivation of a mix of tropical crops– 85% organic and 15% traditional. They have designed ocean view areas into exclusive organic gardens for autonomous use, with living, work and farm systems integrated into the landscape.
The Palmas Educational Retreat is a place where sustainable agriculture and architecture meet. It's where students, educators, visitors, biologists, innovators and architects come to learn, share, teach and discover sustainable techniques in a collaborative entrepreneurial atmosphere. Palmas is a fully operational integrated agricultural estate focusing on the cultivation of organic food. There is a rustic farm house with caretaker's quarters and we are also developing our ocean view areas into ergonomically designed luxury live-in research facilities. The ocean view research and residence area occupies roughly 50 acres.

Palmas Educational Retreat is a fully integrated tropical estate located in the Southern Pacific Coastal lands of Costa Rica. Palmas enjoys stunning Pacific Ocean views and ocean access by boat through a protected mangrove river system. They have numerous wild animals living in our private jungle reserves in and around the property. Ther primary commercial crops are cacao, oil palms, organic bananas and coconuts, along with dozens of other fruits and vegetables currently being cultivated. There is also an abundant amount of harvestable wood on the property.
They have created an "Impact Investing" opportunity through education and employment of the local community. The focus is on using local materials in a sustainable way that helps to grow the earth / soil creating a positive impact on our environment. Our research and educational programs are focused on sustainable organic farming and building practices and teaching entrepreneurial skills to local members. One of the initiatives on the food side is to create a product that is grown on our property and bring it "From Farm to Table". Learning and partaking in this process will foster entrepreneurial skills, economic education and employment to local team members from the surrounding community.

Palmas is located in the seventh canton in the province of Puntarenas, in the Southern Pacific Coastal region of Costa Rica. This is one of the most biologically unique places on earth. The Palmas Estate borders protected mangrove reserves and we are connected to the water by the mouth of the Rio Coto and Gulfo Dulce. The property is in the first set of hills just behind the beach and town of Playa Zancudo, just 9 miles down the coast from the world famous surf break of Playa Pavones. Palmas has ocean views and ocean access to Golfito Bay, Gulfo Dulce and the Pacific Ocean via the protected mangroves and the Rio Coto River.
