Living the Beach Life Next to Marino Ballena National Park
Most people would be stoked just to live within walking distance of any beach, but the Marino Ballena National Park, doesn't contain your ordinary beaches. This reserve is home to the famous Whale's Tail Formation and brings not only human tourists from all over the world, but humpback whales as well.
Twice a year both hemispheres of humpback whales travel to a natural reef formation where at low tide, forms a giant whale's tail in the sand. Here the two whales mate and raise their families before beginning their long journeys further north or south. With your toes in the sand you can watch baby whales learning to breach and by boat, you can watch them learn to dive. It's one of Costa Rica's many natural wonders that makes this particular area such a magical place to live.
