This 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom home is newly remodeled in 2019 and has a mid-century modern vibe. The house is close to coastal activities such as surfing in Playa Dominical (15 min drive), Uvita, exploring the Marino Ballena National Park, Nauyaca Waterfalls, and Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge.

The house features a large open living room with high ceilings and lots of windows peering into the jungle. The open floor plan allows you to still be in the mix with your friends/family while you’re cooking up a storm, working remote, or entertaining. This house has a fiber-optic internet connection, which is the best internet available. The bright, open kitchen has high quality stainless steel appliances, including a gas oven and stove, dual refrigerator with water filter and ice dispenser.

All three bedrooms come with ceiling fans and custom wood closets. The nights at this elevation (about 1000ft) are quite cool. The house has two on demand water heaters giving you plenty of hot water for showers and washing.

You’ll have amazing mountain views from the upstairs balcony where you can watch the sunset glow in the afternoon. You will also have beautiful jungle and wildlife scenery from every room in the house. It is common to see a variety of birds, and sometimes even monkeys if you wake up early!

A lone Mono Titi, or red-backed squirrel monkey, has been a yearly visitor for 3 years now. The neighboring property is a 30 acre organic farm producing a number of different vegetables. This ensures you will have frequent furry rainforest visitors! The farm also raises sheep, goats, chickens, ducks and rabbits. All of which are available for purchase direct from the farm. The owner is very accommodating with neighbours enjoying the farm.

The house is conveniently located just off the main road, making access easy (no 4×4 needed). You may also hear vehicles pass by on the road that winds down to the beach, depending on the time and day of the week.

Located in Platanillo, a Lovely Hillside Town

Platanillo is a small hillside town made up of farmers, locals, and expats, The town is spread out through the San Juan de Dios valley which offers gorgeous views of the central mountain range. Platanillo has small markets and restaurants, and the town of Dominical is about 15 minutes away if you need other amenities such as a pet store or pharmacy.
