Artisanal Coffee and Fruit Farm and Family Estate in San Isidro
The moment you step foot onto this 6.24 acre estate property, you immediately feel like you have travelled back to old school Costa Rica. The farm is located just outside of San Isidro in the beautiful countryside. The property topography is a large hillside that is mostly covered in mature trees and coffee plants. The 2 bed / 1 bath main home, rancho bar area, soccer field, storage/chicken coop, and various greenhouses are all located at the base of the hillside. Almost all of the 6.24 acres is accessible and usable.
Set Up as a Place to Gather and Entertain
The 2 bed / 1 bath main home is set up as an open air loft style home. On the main floor, there is a small kitchen, a TV room, a large dining and entertaining area, and two loft style bedrooms on opposite sides of the structure. There is also a covered carport. The home has a full bathroom that also functions as the laundry room.
Beside the house is a soccer field complete with goals. This flat grassy field is where the kids and pets can run free or can be used to expand the home. Adjacent to the home is a rancho/bar area meant to be the main entertaining area. The rancho also has a full bathroom, and could be converted into a guest suite.
The home is positioned at the entrance of the property, and is fully equipped with security cameras to give you a peace of mind. The home also has cable and wifi. The home and rancho use ASADA water, and there is a registered well on the property specifically for the crops. There is no shortage of water on this property!
Enjoy Utilizing the Entire Property and Exploring Surrounding Areas
There is an internal road that goes up the hill, through the coffee fields, that brings you to a nice flat area that could be a potential building site for an additional home or structure. With trimming of a few trees, you would have a beautiful valley. The road leading up to this building site is lined with mature Rainbow Eucalyptus trees that add effortless beauty to the already lush and pristine landscape. Throughout the property there are numerous mature fruit trees that provide large harvests throughout the year. Enjoy having your own supply of exotic and sweet fruits such as mango, guayaba, mangosteen, banana, plantain, papaya, cacao, orange, and cashew trees.
The entrance of the farm is located on a private road that is shared with three other farmers. Directly across the road from the property entrance is access to the always-flowing river that carves its way through the valley. This river, although not on the property, is a wonderful spot to have a “beach day” on the sandy shores with friends and family.
Coffee Business Rights Are Included in the Sale
The family has made the decision to sell the full commercial rights to the coffee business (already included in the price.) For a period of time, the coffee was being exported and sold in the states. There are two kinds of coffee found on the farm: Obata which is ready for harvest in December, and Katimor which is ready for harvest in mid January.
The farm has some coffee machinery meant for processing; they have all of the machinery necessary to dry the beans, but they do not have a roasting machine. The family uses a third party to roast and bag the beans after the beans have been dried on the farm.
Located Just Outside the City, Giving you Quick Access to Great Amenities
This estate is located in an area called Pedregoso, a small town with basic amenities just outside the big city. Being located in this area is very attractive because of the cool climate and easy access to “big city amenities” such as hospitals and doctors, large supermarkets, various shops, mechanics, lawyers, etc.
This property could be an excellent retirement project or family project for those wanting to operate their very own coffee and fruit farm. Whether it just be for you and your family to enjoy, or for future eco-tourists, this property is a must see for someone wanting to reside in the beautiful Costa Rican countryside.
